so far burned 2 discs. Optical Quantum 2X 25GB BD-RE Blu-ray Blank Disc Logo Top, 10 pack and one Maxell Blu-ray Rewritble Dual Layer 50GB 1-2X. success with both on first try using imgburn. Ps3 users make sure you uncheck 'prefer format without space areas' for 50gb discs.
Looking forward to trying some 6x bd-r 25gb discs for quicker speed. Drive is quiet.
cons: priced dropped $4 since I bought it last week.

An External BD/DVD Read/Writer that does everything to BD &DVD, January 2, 2012 This review is from: 10X External Bd Retail (Electronics) I began by mistakenly ordering two(2) units from J&R through Amazon. I had to call Amazon's customer service quickly to change my order. The service people at Amazon were very polite and handled my order problem with no hassles. So, only one(1)LG-BE12LU38 was going to show up at my door. It came by regular ground within the time frame posted. The box was nicely wrapped in a thick gray plastic that saved it from the rain that was coming down pretty hard around Chesapeake Bay. I unpackaged the drive and inspected it for damage. It was in excellent shape with protective film covering the glossy white shell. I immediately began to hook it up and put it to work.
I have a SATA port in my laptop which I connected. I didn't even give the USB port a second thought. But it's nice to have for troubleshooting port problems.
A AC to DC plugin converter(wall wart) provided power. I would have preferred a regular three-prong power cord. However, there hasn't beeen any problems with... Read more

(Those of you who've been around pregnant women will understand!) So I'd been looking for one, and the one he'd originally found (he wanted one that was e-sata compatible) was just outside our price range. Then, I came across this one, and I read over the information. To make sure it was exactly what he was looking for, I showed him the reviews and the product information. He liked what he saw, and a while later I went back and bought it when he wasn't around.
It works very nicely, and came exactly as described. He was like a little kid on Christmas when he got it, and he has been very happy with it's performance. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
